Snowboarding legend Shaun White is launching a brand-new professional league, and it all kicks off at Aspen Snowmass this Friday and Saturday, March 7th & 8th.
Featuring 36 elite riders from around the world—including Japan, China, Italy, and the U.S.—The Snow League promises to push the sport to new heights with a fresh competition format.
Out of the 36 athletes in the field, 24 of them are aged 25 and under.
But one name stands out in this list above the rest: 36-year-old Louie Vito, the highly decorated snowboarder, two-time Olympian, and former Dancing With The Stars contestant.
After competing in Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2022, Vito is now on a mission to return to the Olympics—this time representing Team Italy.
The league introduces head-to-head matchups and a season-long points system, leading to the crowning of the first Snow League World Champion.
Similar to Formula 1 or NASCAR, athletes will accumulate points across four global stops, with results also counting toward the World Snowboard Points List, a key factor in Olympic qualification.
“This is a dream roster of athletes at the pinnacle of halfpipe snowboarding,” said White. “Each rider is pushing the boundaries of competition and trick innovation.”
The Snow League’s debut event will air live on NBC and Peacock, with full-season coverage available on Peacock and encore presentations on NBC.
Broadcast details will be announced closer to the event.
