It was a busy and successful Saturday on the middle school hardwood, with strong performances from Bellefontaine and Riverside.
7th Grade Boys — Riverside 36, Bethel 28
The Riverside Pirates 7th-grade boys team earned a home victory Saturday morning, defeating Bethel 36–28.
Charlie Varian led the way with a season-high 27 points and 9 rebounds, going 11-for-15 from the free throw line. Jaxen Orsborne added 5 points, while Brandon Wynager and Coy Yelton each chipped in 2 points.
The Pirates host Northridge on Thursday, January 15, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m.
7th Grade Girls — Bellefontaine 30, Wapakoneta 9
The Bellefontaine 7th-grade Lady Chiefs defended their home court with a convincing 30–9 victory over Wapakoneta on Saturday.
With the win, the Lady Chiefs improved to 8–2 on the season.

8th Grade Girls — Wapakoneta 43, Bellefontaine 18
The Bellefontaine 8th-grade Lady Chiefs fell to Wapakoneta 43–18 on Saturday, evening their record to 5–5 on the season.
Despite the final score, the Lady Chiefs showed effort and determination on both ends of the floor.
