Riverside (2-1) 35, Spencerville (0-3) 0
Riverside picked up its first win of the season Friday night, shutting out Spencerville 35-0.
The Pirates got on the board in the first quarter after Spencerville muffed a punt. Corbin Reed recovered the loose ball and returned it 11 yards for a touchdown with 5:02 left in the quarter. The extra point was good, giving Riverside a 7-0 lead.
Gunner Carpenter added a nine-yard touchdown run with 1:57 remaining in the first quarter. The extra point extended the lead to 14-0.
Neither team scored in the second quarter.
Riverside added two more touchdowns in the third quarter. Dylan Trimble broke loose for a 35-yard touchdown run with 8:23 remaining, although the extra point was missed. Trimble scored again on an 11-yard run with 5:05 left in the quarter, making it 27-0.
Carpenter capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with another nine-yard touchdown run. The Pirates added a two-point conversion after a muffed snap, making it 35-0.
Spencerville had a chance to get on the scoreboard late, but the Bearcats were stopped at the one-yard line as time expired, leaving them just short of their first score of the season.

Lima Central Catholic (3-0) 37, Urbana (2-1) 34
Lima Central Catholic edged Urbana 37-34 in a hard-fought football game.
Urbana quarterback Grady Lantz threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding a rushing touchdown. He did throw two interceptions.
Carter Houseman caught two of Lantz’s touchdown passes.
The Hillclimbers had several chances to come away with the win, but Lima Central Catholic made just enough plays late to hold on for the three-point victory.

Lima Senior (2-1) 18, Benjamin Logan (1-2) 10
Benjamin Logan suffered its second loss of the season Friday night, falling to Lima Senior 18-10.
The Raiders scored first when Adam Tinsman ran 14 yards for a touchdown with 7:58 left in the first quarter. Brandon Heater added the extra point to give Benjamin Logan a 7-0 lead.
Lima Senior answered with a nine-yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter, cutting the lead to 7-6.
The Spartans took the lead with just 16 seconds left in the first half on a 56-yard touchdown pass, making it 12-7 at halftime.
Lima Senior added to its advantage early in the third quarter with a 95-yard touchdown run, putting the Spartans ahead 18-7.
Benjamin Logan got no closer than eight points after Heater connected on a 33-yard field goal with 2:02 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders had one final opportunity late in the game, blocking a Lima Senior punt with under a minute remaining. However, Benjamin Logan was unable to capitalize on the field position and could not find the end zone.
The Raiders finished with 118 total yards, including 68 passing and 50 rushing. Lima Senior totaled 297 yards, with 202 through the air and 95 on the ground.
Tinsman completed nine of 14 passes for 68 yards and rushed for 12 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Pender led the Raiders with 46 rushing yards on 14 carries, while Wyatt Predmore caught six passes for 38 yards.
Defensively, Ethan Carpenter led Benjamin Logan with five tackles, one assist, four-and-a-half tackles for loss and three-and-a-half sacks.
The Raiders were also penalized 14 times for 159 yards and turned the ball over three times.
Marion Harding (2-1) 14, Bellefontaine (1-2) 7
Bellefontaine suffered a tough 14-7 loss to Marion Harding Friday night.
The Presidents scored on their opening drive with a 12-yard touchdown pass. Marion Harding then had a 97-yard touchdown run called back for holding, but continued the drive and went 15 plays over nearly six minutes before scoring on a three-yard quarterback run.
The Chiefs had opportunities to answer, but both of their first two drives ended in turnovers on downs inside the Marion Harding 10-yard line. The Presidents took a 14-0 lead into halftime.
Bellefontaine finally got on the board in the third quarter. Blake Loomis was injured while being tackled near the goal line, and he did not return. On fourth down, Dillon Jones scored from the wildcat formation to cut the deficit to 14-7.
Loomis finished 13-of-18 passing for 140 yards and an interception before leaving the game. Jones and Sutton Daring combined for 24 passing yards the rest of the way.
Bryant Carter led the Chiefs with 40 rushing yards on 13 carries. Jones had eight catches for 93 yards, while Daring added six receptions for 43 yards.
Bellefontaine finished 2-for-5 on fourth down and had several costly mistakes late, including a roughing-the-kicker penalty, another turnover on downs and a fumble by CJ Butler on a screen pass.
Marion Harding held on for the victory.

West Liberty-Salem (1-2) 31, Cedarville (0-3) 0
West Liberty-Salem got their Friday night, shutting out Cedarville 31-0.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the first quarter when Beckett Sullivan connected with Grant Krabill on an 18-yard touchdown pass. Tucker Searles added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
West Liberty-Salem added two touchdowns in the second quarter. Silas Krabill scored on a 25-yard run, followed by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Sullivan to Brandel Sullivan. The Tigers led 21-0 at halftime.
Searles added a 31-yard field goal early in the third quarter, and Brandel Sullivan then returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown to make it 31-0.
Silas Krabill led the Tigers with 103 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Sullivan completed six of 10 passes for 39 yards and two touchdowns.
Brandel Sullivan had one catch for 14 yards and a touchdown, while Grant Krabill caught two passes for 17 yards and a score.
West Liberty-Salem finished with 178 total yards, including 139 rushing. The Tigers also forced two turnovers and committed none themselves.
Allen East (3-0) 32, Indian Lake (2-1) 14
Indian Lake fell to Allen East 32-14 Friday night.
Allen East scored first on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Keagan Jones to Ethan Hershberger, giving the Mustangs a 6-0 lead after the first quarter.
The teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter. Allen East scored on a 40-yard pass to Dominic Burkett before Indian Lake answered with a four-yard touchdown pass from Brady Golldiay to Reed Strayer.
The Mustangs then struck for an 87-yard touchdown pass to Burkett, but Indian Lake responded just before halftime when Golldiay scored on a 10-yard run. Allen East led 20-14 at the break.
Allen East added a three-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and a two-yard touchdown run from Miles McDorman with 1:13 remaining to finish the scoring.
Golldiay completed 21 of 36 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also led the Lakers on the ground with 86 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
Brodey Reisinger caught six passes for 86 yards, while Reed Strayer had four catches for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Indian Lake finished with 384 total yards, but turned the ball over five times.
