Pirates top Golden Gophers; Lady Tigers fall – HS and MS basketball scores

The Riverside varsity boys’ team defeated Ridgemont 66-54.

For the Pirates, Kaleb Schindelwolf led with a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Gavin Orsborne filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals, Ayden Clary added 11 points and 5 boards, and Dominik Stotler netted 9 points.

Riverside improves to 2-0 on the year.

The Pirate JV team also beat Ridgemont 54-44.

Dylan Burchett recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. He also picked up a steal. Reece Jenkins chipped in with 13 points of his own along with 6 boards, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Hayden Sanford had 13 points as well.

Urbana defeated Fairbanks 50-31.

The Hillclimbers are 1-0.

Senior Ezra Davie

The Calvary Christian varsity boys defeated Spring Valley Academy 46-39.

Ezra Davie led the Spartans with 15 points and 5 rebounds, Wyatt Schlatter tossed in 11 points with 6 rebounds and Kaden Downey hit 3, 3-point shots and had 3 steals.

Evan Patton added 5 points and 4 rebounds. Patrick James put in 4 points, and 4 rebounds with 4 steals and Ephraim Daniels chipped in 2 points with 2 assists and 3 steals.

Calvary is back in action Monday at Hardin Northern.

In varsity girls’ action, West Liberty-Salem fell to Miami East 33-23.

For the Lady Tigers, Lilly Weaver led the way with 9 points, Chaley Wade tallied 8 points, and Megan Hollar and Ava Astroino each chipped in with 3 points.

West Liberty-Salem falls to 1-2 on the year.

Miami East improves to 4-1.

The Lady Tigers defeated Miami East in the JV game 30-19.

Briley Sullivan led WL-S with 11 points.

Middle School:

The Riverside 7th-grade girls lost to Northridge 26-13.

For the Lady Pirates, Kenzie Stotler led with 7 points and 9 rebounds, Chloe Purtee and Randi Doyle each had 3 points, and Molly Carman pulled down 6 boards.

Riverside falls to 0-3 (0-2 TRC).

In the 8th grade game, the Lady Pirates beat Northridge 41-32.

Kenna Johnson led the charge for Riverside with 20 points and 5 rebounds, Miah Carman recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards, and Emilee Robinson had 6 points.

The 8th-grade Pirates improve to 3-0 (2-0 conference).
