Hawley Carries Benjamin Logan Shut Out


Jacob Hawley struck out 11 batters as the starting pitcher led Benjamin Logan Acme past Botkins Varsity Trojans 3-0 on Tuesday at Botkins Community Park.

Hawley allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking none.

Both teams were strong on the bump. Benjamin Logan Varsity BL ACME pitchers struck out 11, while Botkins Varsity Trojans sat down three.

Benjamin Logan got on the board in the top of the second inning after an error scored two runs, and Caiden Powell grounded out, scoring one run.

Corey Koenig took the loss for Botkins.

The right-handed pitcher went four innings, allowing three runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking one.

Andrew Frederick led Benjamin Logan with two hits in two at-bats.

Quinn Koenig, Levi Frey, and Corey Koenig each collected one hit for Botkins.
