It was a big weekend on the mat for area girls wrestlers, with West Liberty-Salem and Benjamin Logan showcasing depth and dominance at the Fairbanks Scramble and the Triad Invitational, bringing home individual titles and strong team finishes.
Benjamin Logan Girls Wrestling
The Benjamin Logan girls wrestling team had an outstanding showing Sunday at the Triad Invitational, competing against 17 teams and finishing runner-up as a team with just six wrestlers entered.

West Liberty-Salem Girls Wrestling
The West Liberty-Salem girls wrestling team stayed busy over the weekend, competing Friday at the Fairbanks Scramble and Sunday at the Triad Invitational, where the Tigers finished 7th as a team.
Fairbanks Scramble (Friday):

Chloe Griffith went 2–0 with a pin and a tech fall

Jenna Cline went 2–0 with a pin

Shelby Vincent went 2–0 with a pin and also wrestled a strong exhibition match
Triad Invitational (Sunday):

110 lbs – Chloe Griffith went 3–0 with two pins and a tech fall to claim the 110-pound championship

115 lbs – Shelby Vincent went 1–4 with a pin
The Tigers return to the mat Tuesday night at home for Senior Night. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team while honoring senior Chloe Griffith.
Wrestling begins at 5:45 p.m.
Benjamin Logan Middle School Competes at OAC State & Girls District Tournament
On Sunday afternoon, 12 wrestlers from the Benjamin Logan Middle School team competed in the OAC Divisional State & Girls District Tournament in Toledo, Ohio. The Raiders turned in a strong showing, finishing third out of 50 teams and producing six individual placers.
Leading the way were Owen Marshall, Jennings Bednarki, and Bristol Blair, each earning second-place finishes in their respective weight classes.
Also reaching the podium were Carter Crumm, Quinn Kuba, and Bryson Greiner, who each battled their way to fourth-place finishes.
Additional wins on the day were recorded by Obi Fahle, Monroe Thompson, Kaleb Linkinhoker, Carolyn Wickline, and Marshall Elliott, contributing to the team’s overall success.
