Raiders, Tigers, and Lady Spartans dominate in youth basketball

Saturday, the Benjamin Logan 7th grade boys fought hard but fell short in a 43-16 loss against Riverside.

Anson Nichols and Luke Long each led the team with 6 points.

Preston Mikes and Nevada Coleman contributed 2 points each in a valiant effort.

Despite the loss, the Raiders continue to build on their experience.

The 8th-grade Raiders were on fire, defeating Riverside 68-10.

Carrick Spriggs led the charge with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and a block.

Micah Gregg followed with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Gabe Predmore added 8 points and 7 rebounds.

Meanwhile, West Liberty-Salem‘s 8th-grade boys dominated Mechanicsburg with a 41-22 victory.

Tyler Hershberger led the Tigers with 13 points, and Eli Jones contributed 7 points.

The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday against Fairbanks.

On the girls’ side, the West Liberty-Salem 7th grade girls completed an undefeated regular season with a 36-30 victory over Mechanicsburg, improving their record to 13-0.

Lilly Yeater and Rylee Falloon each scored 7 points, while Bella Johnson led all scorers with 19.

Lastly, the Calvary junior high girls secured a tight 25-21 win against Ohio Eagles.

Caroline Moore and Madelyn Carter were standout performers, scoring 6 and 4 points, respectively.

With strong defense from Moore and Destiney Mathys, who both had 4 steals, the team secured the victory.
