Riverside and Benjamin Logan posts wins; Indian Lake falls

In baseball, Riverside hosted Dayton Northridge on Thursday night in a league matchup, securing an 8-3 victory.

The Pirates’ offense was powered by Aiden Manning, who hit a grand slam and drove in five runs with two hits.

Hayden Sanford also had a big game at the plate, contributing three hits.

On the mound, Syler Clark earned the win, pitching six solid innings.

He struck out seven batters, gave up three hits, and allowed just one run.

Riverside improves its record to 6-10 overall and 2-8 in league play.

The Benjamin Logan Raiders cruised to a 13-5 win over Fairbanks.

The Raiders took an early lead in the first inning after Camden Spriggs singled to score two runs, Anthony Griffith added a single to score another, and Xavier Allen grounded out to score one more.

Benjamin Logan extended its lead in the second inning with three runs, thanks to RBI singles from Soli Hughes, Cayden Brown, and Bryden Morris. Hughes, who was also the winning pitcher, allowed five hits and five runs (one earned) in seven innings, striking out five and walking three.

The Raiders collected 14 hits in total. Hughes, along with Anthony Griffith, Cayden Brown, Parker Yelton, Camden Spriggs, and Carter Lyden, each had two hits. Hughes also led the team with three RBIs and went 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Raiders showed good discipline at the plate, drawing six walks, with Oliver Morse and Hughes leading with two walks each.

Benjamin Logan will travel to Tecumseh for a game on Friday.

Jonathan Alder defeated the Indian Lake Lakers 10-0, with seven of those runs coming in the third inning.

Kolton Cummins took the loss for Indian Lake, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing nine runs on 10 hits, with one strikeout and two walks.

Cyrus Cummins and Kolton Cummins each had one hit for Indian Lake.

Colten Corcoran led the team with five defensive plays. Indian Lake will play at Fort Loramie on Saturday.

In a high-scoring game, Urbana came out on top with a 12-8 victory over Southeastern.
