Riverside Golf Teams Compete in Friday Matches

The Riverside High School golf teams had a mixed day of results as they hosted matches at Cherokee Hills on Friday afternoon.

Boys’ Golf: Riverside Falls to Covington

The Riverside Boys Golf Team faced off against Covington and was defeated with a final score of 171 to 217. Despite the loss, Riverside’s Jaxon Woods delivered a strong performance, tying for co-medalist honors with a score of 41. Hayden McCully followed with a 50, while Daniel Esh and Syler Clark rounded out the team with scores of 56 and 70, respectively.

Girls’ Golf: Riverside Triumphs Over Lehman Catholic

In contrast, the Riverside Lady Pirates celebrated a victory in their TRC league opener, defeating Lehman Catholic 214 to 231. Reaghan McDaniel led Riverside with a standout performance, securing medalist honors with a score of 41. Zoie Armbruster and Kenna Johnson also had notable rounds, scoring 51 and 53, respectively. Lei Hurley, Kirstyn Carpenter, and Adalynn Calaway completed the team’s efforts with scores of 69, 70, and 74.

The Lady Pirates’ win marks a promising start to their league play, showcasing strong individual and team performances.
