Riverside, Indian Lake both fall in Monday boys’ golf matches

Riverside and Indian Lake boys golf teams were both in action Monday night, with the Pirates and Lakers coming up short in their respective matches.

Miami East 175, Riverside 206

Riverside hosted Miami East in TRC league play Monday night, falling 175-206.

Brody Orsborne led the Pirates with a personal-best 40, earning co-medalist honors with Miami East’s Brant Wingate, who also shot a 40.

Jaycen Roby followed with a 51, while Zane Armbruster carded a 57 and Karston Duckro added a 58 to complete Riverside’s team score. Syler Clark also competed for the Pirates with a 61.

Miami East was led by Wingate’s 40, followed by Zack Littlejohn with a 41. Luke Christian and Gradyn Spitler each shot 47, while Lane Grube added a 48 and Kyle Wright finished with a 50.

Northwestern 166, Indian Lake 173

Indian Lake dropped a close CBC matchup to Northwestern Monday night, falling 166-173.

Jaxon Snipes led the Lakers with a 41, followed by Crew McPherson with a 42. Grant Wickline and Mason Berg each carded a 45 to complete Indian Lake’s official team score.

Reid Roberts also competed for the Lakers and shot a 46, while Charlie Stimmel finished with a 49.

The loss moves Indian Lake to 2-3 in the CBC and 3-5 overall.

The Lakers will return to action Tuesday evening when they face Benjamin Logan at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Indian Lake’s JV golfers also competed Monday.

Jesse Carder led the group with a 47, while Eli Cummins shot a 55 and Zeke McVety finished with a 56.
