Riverside & West Liberty-Salem Out Score Opponents


The Riverside Lady Pirate basketball team defeated Triad 42-37 on Thursday night.

Triad got out to a quick lead with a 10-5 advantage after the first quarter.

Riverside stormed back in the second to take a 17-15 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Riverside extended their lead to 32-24.

Triad’s comeback wasn’t enough in the fourth quarter as Riverside held on to win by 5.

Emma Saylor led the Pirates in scoring with 12 and Zoie Armbruster added 9.

Riverside is now 4-5 on the year and 2-3 in the league.

They will head to Covington on Saturday to play the Bucs.

Triad played at home against Riverside tonight in a Varsity-only contest.

For Triad, Emma Ferguson had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Ashlyn McCoy had 16 rebounds, 3 points, and 2 assists.

Mia LeMay had 11 rebounds and 6 points.

Abbey Overfield had 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Triad plays at Ridgemont on Monday in a Varsity-only contest.

Tip-off will be 6:00 pm.


West Liberty-Salem defeated Cedarville 52-31 Thursday night.

Leading the way for the Tigers:

The JV team fell to Cedarville, 21-10.

Belle Sarver led the Tigers netting 5 points.
