It was a historic weekend for Riverside’s 5th and 6th grade peewee football team, as the Pirates claimed their first-ever Super Bowl championship with a decisive 39–12 victory over Northridge on Sunday, October 26.

Riverside entered the game hungry for redemption. Northridge had handed the Pirates their only loss of the regular season, a 26–14 setback earlier in the year. This time, however, the Pirates came ready to make history. With strong defense, explosive plays, and teamwork from start to finish, Riverside controlled the game to bring home the championship trophy.

The Super Bowl win capped off an incredible postseason run. In the opening round, Riverside shut out Milton-Union 42–0, then followed with another dominant 33–0 victory over Bethel in the semifinals.

This marks the first Super Bowl win in program history. While Riverside has made several appearances in past championship games, this year’s team finally broke through to secure the title, a testament to the players’ hard work and the dedication of head coach Jeromy Wren and his staff.
