Area girls basketball teams were on the court Tuesday night, with Riverside earning a road win at Triad and Mechanicsburg turning in a strong performance against Jonathan Alder. Here’s a look at the action from around the region.
Riverside 58, Triad 32
Triad hosted Riverside on Tuesday night, with the Lady Pirates pulling away for a 58–32 victory.
Triad was led by Taylor Queen, who finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Gracie Martin turned in a strong all-around performance with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals, while Emma Bialecki scored 7. Lacey Travis grabbed 9 rebounds, and Addi Matthews added 6 steals to pace the defensive effort.
Riverside controlled the game throughout, leading 16–6 after the first quarter, 29–16 at halftime, and 42–26 after three.
The Lady Pirates were paced by Maddie Lemly, who scored 13 points. Emilee Robinson added 12, while Chloe Purtee and Kenna Johnson each scored 10 as Riverside improved to 1–1 on the season.
Junior High Results
Riverside 7th Grade 9, Milton-Union 3 (2 quarters)
Riverside picked up a low-scoring win in a shortened contest.

Mechanicsburg 48, Jonathan Alder 27
Mechanicsburg earned a decisive 48–27 win over Jonathan Alder, using a fast start and consistent scoring across all four quarters.
The Indians built a 16–5 lead after one and continued to pull away with quarter scores of 8, 13, and 11.
Mechanicsburg featured three double-figure scorers: Clara Forrest led with 13 points, while Mylee DeLong and Clair Rodgers each added 12.
In junior varsity action, Mechanicsburg defeated Jonathan Alder 36–19, with Elizabeth Shuryan scoring 10 points to lead the way.
Indian Lake 42, Waynesfield-Goshen 24
The Lakers strengthened their record with a decisive 42–24 victory over Waynesfield-Goshen.
Carly Strayer led the ladies with 11 points, while Hailey Smith followed closely with 10.
Rya Pequignot added 7 points, and Alivia Kinney contributed 6.
Rounding out the scoring were Kennedy Schwaderer with 5 points and Brylee Buyer with 3.
The JV only played 2 quarters and came away with a win, 20-2.
Leading the way for the Lakers were Hailey Smith and Terra Beltz, each with 6 points.
Brylee Buyer added 4, Alicia Brielmaier and Audra Harford each had 2 points.
