Bellefontaine leads the way in weekend volleyball action

The Bellefontaine Chieftains dominated the court Saturday, sweeping host Graham in straight sets, 25–10, 25–9, 25–4.

Senior Kaeleigh Flora led the charge with 12 kills, 10 digs, 2 blocks, and perfect serving.

Kelsie Snapp added 10 kills, 12 digs, 2 aces, and went 16-for-16 from the service line, while setter Madi Zedeker tallied 29 assists, 8 digs, 5 aces, and flawless serving.

Other contributors included Ava Layman, Presley Vigansky, Ari Rangel, and Jillian Ullom.

The JV Red squad also earned a road win in three sets, 25–23, 19–25, 25–11.

Standouts included Zoey Conner, Alayna Boyd, Lexey Brown, Celine Blinn, Brooklyne Kuntz, and Ava Oppy.

With the win, the varsity Chieftains improve to 9–2 overall and 2–2 in Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail play.

They return home Tuesday to host London.

The Riverside volleyball teams faced Newton with mixed results.

The JV Pirates fell in three sets, 25–13, 19–25, 18–25.

Ellie Zwiebel had 12 assists, Lily Zwiebel added 7 digs and 5 kills, and Madison Schindewolf tallied 3 aces.

The varsity squad battled hard, taking Newton to four sets before falling 25–14, 20–25, 24–26, 21–25.

Kara Klingler led with 13 assists, Zoey Ransbottom added 7, Miah Carman recorded 7 kills and 9 digs, and Emilee Robinson anchored the defense with 39 digs and 3 aces.

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers swept Triad 25–13, 25–12, 25–15, improving to 8–2 overall and 8–1 in OHC play.

The JV Tigers also earned a win, taking two sets 25–8 and 25–20.

 

The Ben Logan Lady Raiders competed in a tri-match at Butler High School against Bellbrook and Butler.

The Raiders pushed both teams to four sets but came up short in each match.
