Area girls basketball teams were busy this week across multiple levels, with varsity squads battling conference opponents while middle school teams continued to build momentum heading into the holiday break.

From tough road tests to convincing home wins, here’s a look at the latest results from around the area.

Riverside Lady Pirates- VARSITY

The Riverside Lady Pirates dropped a 66–14 decision to Miami East on Thursday night.

Miami East jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the contest.

West Liberty-Salem suffered its first loss of the season, falling 51–45 to Madison Plains, which remains unbeaten at 7–0 (5–0 conference).

WL-S moves to 6–1 overall and 5–1 in league play.

The WL-S 7th-grade girls dropped a 40–21 home loss to Greenview, moving their record to 3–2.

The Tigers return to action December 22 at Greenon, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.

Bellefontaine 8th Grade Lady Chiefs

The Bellefontaine 8th-grade Lady Chiefs fell to Benjamin Logan 38–18 on Thursday night, dropping to 4–3 on the season.
