This week, area basketball teams were busy on the court, with several standout performances from both middle school and high school squads. West Liberty-Salem, Bellefontaine, Indian Lake, Triad, Riverside, and Calvary Christian all competed, producing exciting games and impressive individual efforts
High School Basketball
Indian Lake Varsity Girls – Win vs. Northwestern, 36–25
Kennedy Schwaderer led the Lakers with 13 points in a strong team performance.

Benjamin Logan Varsity & JV Girls – Losses at North Union
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders traveled to North Union for CBC action Saturday night.
The varsity Lady Raiders also faced a tough challenge, falling 60–20 to North Union. Elliott Butter paced the Raiders with 5 points, while Paislee Rodenberger and Adilynne Gregg each scored 4. Molly Siefring added 3 points, and Kylie Harner and Jozie Taylor finished with 2 points apiece. The varsity team moves to 7–10 on the season and returns home Saturday afternoon to host Springfield Shawnee, following the JV game.
In the JV matchup, the Lady Raiders fell to a strong North Union team, 45–25. Jozie Taylor led Benjamin Logan with 8 points, followed by Brielle Kline with 6 and Addison Kuhn with 4. Madison Shields added 3 points, while Miley Buettner and Bonnie Brunson chipped in 2 points each. The JV Lady Raiders now sit at 11–5 on the season and will host Bethel JV on Saturday, with tip-off set for noon.

The Lady Tigers fell to 13–2 (11–2 OHC), with Emily King scoring 10 points.

Bellefontaine 8th Grade Girls – The Lady Chiefs suffered a heartbreaking 30–28 loss to Graham on Saturday on a last-second shot, bringing their record to 7–7. Despite being limited to just six 8th graders, the team showed tremendous grit, leaning on key contributions from the 7th-grade players and battling until the final buzzer. Bellefontaine matched Graham step for step and were in position to win before the late shot decided the outcome. The Lady Chiefs will look to regroup and carry their toughness into tournament play.
