CCS Spartans Jr. High Girls Basketball
The CCS Spartans Jr. High Girls Basketball team defeated Emmanuel Christian 21-13 on Saturday. Caroline Moore and Avery Rogers led the team with 6 points each, while Madelyn Carter, Karis Willets, Eden LeCrone, and Destiney Mathys each added 2. Mazie Worley chipped in 1 point. Caroline Moore was a standout on the boards, pulling down 12 rebounds to dominate the glass.
Bellefontaine 8th Grade Girls Basketball
The 8th grade Lady Chiefs traveled to Kenton on Saturday and came away with an impressive 43-10 victory. Mia Brown led the team with 13 points, four rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Lexey Brown contributed 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots. Cameo Greene added eight points, three rebounds, two steals, and two assists, while Paxton Stewart chipped in six points, five rebounds, and five steals. Alli Meyers finished with four points, three rebounds, and three steals, and Leila Hammond added two points. Annie Clem provided key minutes on both sides of the ball. The Chiefs will travel to Shawnee on Monday for an away contest.
Bellefontaine 7th Grade Girls Basketball
The 7th grade Lady Chiefs defeated Kenton 27-12 on Saturday. Gianna Davis led the way with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Annie Gallaway, Zyannia Bean-Breaston, and Alexis Hogan distributed the ball well, combining for 6 assists. Hogan also added 5 points and 6 rebounds, while Kennedy Hairston dominated the paint with 8 points. Kylyn Slayback, Samantha Bricker, Brookelyn Oaks, and Alexis Skaggs provided strong minutes. The 7th grade Lady Chiefs improve to 2-2 and will travel to Springfield Shawnee for a Monday night showdown.
Bellefontaine Boys Basketball
On Saturday, December 7th, the Bellefontaine Boys Basketball teams faced Kenton. In the 7th grade game, Kenton won 32-23. Sennett Stolly led the Chiefs with 12 points. The 8th grade team came out victorious with a 40-30 win over Kenton. Tyrin Johnson led the way with 22 points, and Isaiah Parks added 8 points.
Benjamin Logan Boys Basketball
The 7th grade Raiders lost a tough battle to Tecumseh, falling 12-31. Despite the loss, Preston Mikes led the team in scoring with 4 points. Anson Nicols, Nevada Coleman, Baikyr Roberts, and Luke Long each contributed 2 points to the Raiders’ total. The 8th grade Raiders triumphed in a close contest, defeating Tecumseh 39-35. Gabe Predmore was the standout performer, scoring 13 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Carrick Spriggs and Micah Gregg each added 9 points, while Brantley Karn and Colton Little chipped in with 5 and 3 points, respectively, to secure the victory for the Raiders.
