The Riverside Pirates were in action Saturday, taking on Houston.
In junior varsity play, Riverside came out on top in straight sets, 25-14 and 25-19.
Ellie Zwiebel led with 15 assists, while Kenzie Stotler collected 9 digs.
Addison Shoe added 8 digs and 6 kills.
The varsity squad fell in three close sets, 22-25, 22-25, and 20-25.
Kara Klingler tallied 11 assists, and Zoey Ransbottom added 7.
Miah Carman contributed 8 kills and 9 digs, Valerie Knight had 7 kills, and Emilee Robinson finished with 9 digs.
The Riverside Junior High hosted Fairlawn in a non-conference matchup.
Both the 7th and 8th grade teams dropped their matches.
The 7th grade fell 8-25 and 17-25.
Ruth Morrison recorded 4 points with 3 aces, Bella Shultz scored 2 points, and both Bella Monnin and Avery Wheeler added 1 point each.
The 8th-grade team was defeated 12-25 and 17-25.
Gracie Rench had 4 points and 1 ace, while Bella Robinson contributed 2 points, 2 aces, and 3 digs.
Lillian Jackson posted 2 points with an ace, Sofia Butler had 2 points and 2 kills, and Aliya Salo chipped in 1 point, 1 ace, 1 tip, and 1 kill. Izzy Hudson and Annabell each scored a point with an ace.
Benjamin Logan volleyball also faced Bellefontaine.
In 7th-grade action, the Raiders battled to three sets but came up short, 21-25, 25-19, and 22-25.
The team combined for 21 aces, 11 kills, 7 assists, and 17 digs.
