Several local teams in volleyball action were in action Saturday.

Varsity/JV Volleyball:

Benjamin Logan traveled to Vandalia Butler for a Tri-match with Butler and Bellbrook.

The Raiders defeated Butler in straight sets: 25-19, 25-17, and 25-14.

Benjamin Logan lost the second match with Bellbrook in four sets: 14-25, 14-25, 25-12, and 21-25.

The Riverside varsity team fell to Newton in straight sets: 15-25, 18-25, and 20-25.

For the Pirates, Alaina Snow had 9 assists, 18 digs, and was 100% from the serving line, Jade Copas tallied 15 digs, 7 kills, 2 blocks, and led in serve receive, Aubree Huston pitched in 12 digs, and Rachel Knight recorded 4 kills.

Riverside’s JV team lost to Newton in three sets: 12-25, 25-22, and 25-27.

Riley Dillon led the way with 4 aces, 5 kills, and 10 digs, and she led in serve receive, Zoey Ransbottom totaled 6 aces, 1 block, and 7 assists, Briana Bradley had 4 kills and a block, and Emma Strayer tallied 8 digs.

Bellefontaine Volleyball

Bellefontaine hosted the Chieftain Invitational and the JV Black team finished 4th.

The Chiefs hosted six other teams.

The JV Black team fell to Jonathan Alder in three sets: 25-16, 13-25, and 10-25.

Ava Reeves had 14 digs, 3 kills, and a solo block, Maddie Ullom added 9 digs and 3 kills, Kylie Adams recorded 2 kills, 4 blocks, and 5 digs, Zoey Lavender tallied 7 digs and 4 kills and Kylee Boggs dished out in 12 assists.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity team defeated Catholic Central in straight sets: 25-13, 25-5, and 25-17.

For the Tigers:

Bailey Poppe: 15 kills, 9 digs, 12 assists, 9/9 serving with 2 aces

Olivia Wilcox: 18 digs, 11/11 serving with 2 aces, 10/12 on serve receive

Leah Ropp: 5 kills, 10 digs, 13/13 serving with 2 aces

Londyn Loveless: 24 assists, 4 digs, 28/28 serving with 5 aces

Naomi Cole: 9 kills, 3 digs, 1 block

Briley Sullivan: 1 block

Lexy Lee: 2 kills

Chaley Wade: 2 kills, 2 digs, 6/6 serving

Ava Poppe: 4 kills, 11 digs, 4/6 serving, 8/9 on serve receive

West Liberty-Salem is now 7-2 overall and 6-2 in OHC.

The JV Lady Tigers defeated Catholic Central in straight sets: 25-14 and 25-7.

Middle School:

Benjamin Logan hosted a tri-match against Springfield Shawnee and Arlington.

The 7th grade Lady Raiders beat Shawnee in straight sets: 25-13 and 25-23.

Autumn Cline had 6 aces and 9 kills, Georgia Daniels tallied 3 aces and 5 kills, Bella Hughes served 2 aces, and Nevaeh Fogle added 2 kills.

In the second game, Benjamin Logan fell to Arlington in straight sets: 23-25 and 24-26.

Georgia Daniels had 3 aces and 7 kills, Autumn Cline had an ace and 6 kills, Kelsey Jumper served 2 aces and Leah Hawley added 4 aces.

The 8th grade Lady Raiders beat Shawnee in 3 sets: 24-26, 25-23, and 25-16.

Abby Vance led with 4 aces, 5 kills, and a solo block, Julia Harmon served 5 aces, Kylie Harner had 2 aces and 5 kills and Avah Miller added 4 kills.

In the second match, Benjamin Logan defeated Arlington in three sets: 19-25, 25-0, and 25-15.

Kylie Harner served 12 aces and had 4 kills, Abby Vance tallied 10 kills and a solo block, Rylee Davis had 2 aces and a kill, Jaylyn Parker served 2 aces, and Storm LeVan served an ace and had a solo block.

The Riverside 7th grade team lost to Bethel in straight sets: 13-25 and 23-25.

Leading scorers for the Pirates were Molly Carman with 7 points, 2 aces, 2 tips, and 1 kill, Kenzie Stotler had 3 points, Addison Shoe had 3 points and 2 aces, Maddy Bower and Chloe Purtee both had 1 point, and Valerie Knight had 1 block and 1 tip.

Riverside’s 8th-grade team also lost to Bethel in straight sets: 17-25 and 17-25.

For the Pirates, Kenna Johnson had 5 points and 5 aces, Emily Robinson recorded 4 points and 2 aces, and Kara Klingler tallied 4 points and an ace.

Riverside will host Northridge on Monday beginning at 5:30.

The West Liberty-Salem Orange Tigers lost in 2 sets 13-25, 13-25 to a tough visiting Cedarville team.

The West Libert-Salem Black Tigers won their match vs the Indians in 3 sets: 22-25, 25-16, 25-16.

Zoe Carter went 15 for 18 serving, with 10 aces, 5 kills, 1 dig, and 1 assist.

Lilli Heminger had 12 kills and 2 aces.

Kiersten Stoll went 11 for 12 serving, with 5 aces, 7 kills, 2 assists, and 2 digs.

Sophia Landon went 10 for 11 serving with 3 aces, 14 assists, and 2 kills.

Belle Sarver went 7 for 10 serving with 1 ace, and 6 kills.

Reagan Winters had 6 digs and 1 kill.
