The West Liberty-Salem boys’ soccer team continued their impressive form with a dominant 10-1 victory over Franklin Monroe. Seven players contributed to the scoreline, led by Lance Campbell with 3 goals and Wyatt Longaberger with 2. Caleb Hershberger, Carson Kerns, Elijah Christison, Connor Leichty, and Troy Christison each added a goal. Troy Christison also provided 2 assists, while Daniel Neer, Isaiah Reames, Kerns, Longaberger, and Leichty each had one assist. Tucker Searles made 3 saves in goal. The Tigers will play Jackson Center at home on Monday at 5:30 PM.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Madison Plains for an OHC matchup and emerged victorious with a 6-1 win. Ava Johnson and Arianna Weaver each scored 2 goals, while Jenna Cline and Chloe Bender added one goal each. Johnson, Elise Longshore, and Weaver contributed assists. The Tigers are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will face Milton Union on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
On Thursday, the Varsity Calvary Christian Spartan Soccer team secured a 4-0 win over the Temple Christian Pioneers in Lima. Senior Captain Daniel Young opened the scoring, followed by a long free-kick goal from Senior Josh Carnes. Junior Nehemiah Dillon added a goal from outside the box, and Daniel Young completed the scoring with a penalty kick. The Spartans are now 5-1-1 and will face Allen East on Saturday.
