Area Softball and Baseball teams hit the mound on Monday, April 3.
Softball
The Indian Lake Lakers had all cylinders firing on offense on Monday, winning big over North Union 9-2.
The Lady Lakers got things started in the first inning when Madison Brentlinger singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. The team tallied four runs in the fourth inning.
The Laker’s offense in the inning came from singles by Brentlinger, Roby, and Davis. Brentlinger was in the circle for Indian Lake and allowed eight hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three.
West Liberty-Salem lost to West Jefferson 6-0.
Kennedy Wallace pitched a complete game with 3 strikeouts and no walks. She threw 3 innings with less than 11 pitches.
The Lady Chiefs traveled to Kenton Ridge and lost 2-0. Defensively, the team did not play a bad game. Averie Vigansky had one hit.
Baseball
Bellefontaine High School fell to Kenton Ridge High School 4-0.
Lane Reeves was on the pitcher’s mound for The Bellefontaine Chiefs. The right-hander went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three. Kaden Reames threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Bellefontaine Chiefs stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Carter Caudill led the way with two. The Chiefs was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
Benjamin Logan watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-3 loss to Graham Local on Monday.
Benjamin Logan scored three runs in the sixth inning. Hunter Peterson, Bryden Morris, and Hayden Kennaw all drove in runs in the frame.
Morris took the loss for Benjamin Logan. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three.
Morris, Ian Scheiderer, Kennaw, Peterson, and Trey Miracle each managed one hit to lead The Raiders. The team didn’t commit a single error in the field. Miracle had the most chances in the field with five.
