Softball roundup: Bellefontaine and Indian Lake score big wins; Benjamin Logan falls to Shawnee

It was a busy night on the local softball scene Monday, with exciting finishes and standout performances across the area.

Bellefontaine’s Lady Chiefs came out swinging in a 12-7 win over Jonathan Alder.

Airiana Young led the charge at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and three singles.

Laila Butler added a 3-for-3 night with a walk, while Joy Fogan earned the win in the circle, going five innings.

Kassi Prine came in for relief and tossed two shutout frames to close it out.

Bellefontaine totaled 14 hits in the victory and will travel to Jonathan Alder for a rematch Wednesday.

At Indian Lake, the Lady Lakers pulled off a dramatic 7-6 walk-off win in extra innings against Northwestern.

Down 6-1 in the fifth, Indian Lake rallied to tie the game and sealed the comeback in the bottom of the eighth with a walk-off triple by Halle Roby.

Bre Wisener went the distance in the circle, allowing five hits and four earned runs while striking out three.

Roby, Abigail Elliott, and Annie Rapp each had two hits in the win.

Benjamin Logan fell to Shawnee 6-1. Rylan Norviel, Chloe Crumm, and Sidney Sallee each recorded a hit for the Lady Raiders, while Keeli Rostorfer scored their lone run in the sixth.

Adilynne Gregg and Chloe Crumm split time in the circle, each striking out five.

The Raiders are now 9-2 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

Mechanicsburg beat West Liberty-Salem 9-3.

For the Lady Tigers, Kaylee Blair was 2-2 at the plate while Teagan Boyd was 2-3.

Riverside JV Lady Pirates defeated the Milton-Union Bulldogs 9-7.

Zoey Ransbottom had 2 doubles at the plate while Adalynn Callaway, Aubree Huston, Molly Carman, and Kara Klingler each had a double.

Molly Carman also had 8 strikeouts on the night.
