Softball teams shine midweek

Wednesday was a busy night for high school softball across Logan County, with standout performances leading to wins for Benjamin Logan and Indian Lake, while West Liberty-Salem came up short against Madison Plains.

The Lady Raiders powered past Graham with a commanding 11-2 win, highlighted by a dominant outing from pitcher Chloe Crumm.

Crumm struck out 10 batters over seven innings, allowing just three hits and two runs while walking four.

The Lady Raiders trailed 2-0 in the early innings but tied the game in the fourth with a sacrifice fly from Keeli Rostorfer.

They took a 3-2 lead in the fifth before erupting for eight runs in the sixth inning.

Key hits included a three-run homer from Rylan Norviel, a three-RBI double from Kylie Harner, and an RBI double from Keeli Rostorfer.

Skylar Miracle also added an RBI single in the big inning.

Benjamin Logan tallied 12 hits in total.

Harner led the team with three RBIs, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Rostorfer, Tanna Jacobs, Norviel, and Harner all collected two hits each.

Benjamin Logan will next face Riverside at home on Saturday.

Indian Lake picked up a 6-3 win over North Union at home.

Halle Roby starred on both sides of the ball, going 3-for-4 at the plate and pitching two scoreless innings in relief.

She doubled in the sixth and singled in the third and fifth.

The Lakers took the lead in the third after Roby’s RBI single and an error by North Union.

Though the visitors tied it at 3-3 in the fourth inning, Indian Lake answered in the fifth with runs driven in by Bre Wisener and Brylee Buyer.

Wisener also started on the mound, going five innings while allowing eight hits and three runs (one earned), striking out three and walking two.

Roby came in to close the door, allowing three hits but no runs.

Indian Lake finished with 10 hits, led by Roby, Abigail Elliott, and MacKenzie Miller, who each had multiple hits.

The Lakers travel to London on Friday.

West Liberty-Salem came up short against Madison Plains, losing 8-3 despite some bright spots on offense.

Taylor Cook went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Olivia Reichardt added a solo home run and two RBIs, going 1-for-3 at the plate.

The Tigers will host Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday.
