Rosemary and Dahlia Sokolow continue to lift West Liberty-Salem to new heights, earning national recognition and dominating at both the Youth National Championships and the Ohio State Championships this summer.

In June, the sisters traveled to Colorado Springs for the 2025 Youth National Championships, the largest youth weightlifting event in the United States and Canada. Competing against the strongest lifters in their age groups, both Tigers delivered standout performances.

Rosemary Sokolow, competing in the 13 & under division, set new personal records in both the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. Her efforts earned her an impressive 10th-place national finish, a remarkable accomplishment in her first-ever appearance on the national platform.

Her older sister, Dahlia Sokolow, also turned heads in the 15 & under division. She posted personal bests of her own and finished sixth in the nation, a performance strong enough to qualify her for the American Final Championships this December in Daytona Beach.

The momentum continued in August at the Ohio State Championships, where both athletes added to their growing list of achievements.

Rosemary claimed 2nd place in the 13 & under category with another personal-best performance. Dahlia captured 1st place in the 15 & under division and set three new Ohio state records in the 69kg weight class, underscoring her status as one of the top youth lifters in the region.

The sisters’ continued success reflects not only their physical strength but also their discipline, determination, and passion for the sport. As they train for future competitions, they carry with them the support and pride of the entire West Liberty-Salem community.
