On Tuesday, the Calvary Christian Spartans had an eventful 9-3 victory over the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds.
In the first half, senior Nehemiah Dillon scored twice, with senior Fletcher Lambert adding one early. Sophomore Cale Buchenroth slotted two more for the Spartans, and an additional goal gave the Spartans a 6-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, the Spartans conceded three goals, but matched that total with three of their own. Senior Trent Comer and freshman Adler Andre scored one apiece, with Buchenroth adding in another to earn himself a hat-trick.
The back line stood tall, led by senior Lincoln Roell. The bench played a role in bringing energy and encouragement to the game. Goalkeeper Brody Prall’s presence between the posts helped seal the win.
The Spartans are back in action Friday night against New Knoxville in a home contest.
