Bellefontaine senior quarterback Tavien St. Clair has picked up another national award.
The National High School Football Hall of Fame Foundation Board of Governors has named St. Clair the 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year.
St. Clair was chosen for his exceptional performance, leadership, and impact on the field throughout the ‘24 high school football season. Known for his powerful arm, precision passing, and poise under pressure, St. Clair has captured the attention of football fans and scouts nationwide, securing his place as one of the country’s top prospects. He will be continuing his football career at The Ohio State University.
The 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Award honors the most outstanding high school football player of the year, a player who has not only excelled on the field but also displayed leadership, determination, and a commitment to excellence – qualities exemplified by the legendary Marcus Dupree (Dupree was a star tailback at Oklahoma).
St. Clair will receive his prestigious award from former high school All-American Marcus Dupree himself during the 2025 National High School Football Hall of Fame’s Third Annual Induction Ceremony, set to take place on June 14th in Canton, Ohio. The event will celebrate the best of high school football, honoring players, coaches, and figures who have made a lasting impact on the sport.
Chairman Lamont “ShowBoat” Robinson shared his excitement for the honor. “Tavien St. Clair has proven himself to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks to ever grace the high school football stage. His remarkable talent and leadership qualities embody the essence of what this award stands for. We are thrilled to recognize him as the 2025 Player of the Year and look forward to celebrating his achievements in Canton this June.”
The award presentation will be a highlight of the third annual induction ceremony, where fans and alumni of high school football will come together to celebrate the rich tradition and history of the sport.
St. Clair signed with Ohio State on December 4th. He enrolled at OSU earlier this month. In August, St. Clair was named the top overall recruit in the country by Rivals.com. He was also named a Navy All-American last month.
Tavien’s parents are Marcus and Patricia St. Clair, of Bellefontaine.
