Benjamin Logan High School senior Jerrik Stephens officially committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Ohio Northern University, where he will join the Polar Bears football program.

Jerrik, the son of Kurt Stephens and Stephanie Stephens, has been a standout in the Benjamin Logan football program.

He made his first varsity appearance as a freshman on kickoff and quickly developed a strong passion for the sport, inspiring his goal to play at the collegiate level.

Although undecided on his final major, Jerrik is leaning toward a field in Marketing or Pediatrics, citing Ohio Northern University’s excellent academic reputation in both areas as a key factor in his decision.

He also praised the university’s outstanding athletic facilities, impressive coaching staff, and the strong culture within the football program.

Before making his final decision, Jerrik also considered offers from Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, and Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

When asked about his future, Jerrik shared that his goals include graduating from college, excelling in a career that makes a difference, and starting a family.

He believes his strengths in communication, sportsmanship, and team-building will help him succeed both in the classroom and on the field at the collegiate level.

Looking ahead to his role with the Polar Bears, Jerrik stated, “I want to excel at being a great football player and role player for the team. I want to do what is best for the team and play whatever position helps the team the most.”

Benjamin Logan is proud to celebrate Jerrik’s achievements and wishes him continued success at the next level!
