Stinebaugh shatters IL school record, Raiders’ Daniels claims pole vault victory

The Indian Lake indoor track and field teams competed Sunday at Tiffin University, joining a massive 136-school field in one of the largest meets of the season.

Stinebaugh Sets School Record

Aidan Stinebaugh delivered a standout performance, placing second in the triple jump with a mark of 41 feet, 6.5 inches — setting a new indoor school record. The previous mark of 40-5 was set by Dustin Franks in 2020.

Stinebaugh also placed 11th in the long jump at 18-7.75.

Relay Team Earns Top-Five Finish

The girls 4×800 relay team of Laura Metzger, Kayleigh Taylor, Karsyn Newkirk, and Haley Metzger finished fifth overall in a competitive field.

Strong Individual Performances

Silas Holbrook placed ninth in the 400-meter dash (55.82), 17th in the 60-meter dash (7.52), and 20th in the 200-meter dash (24.89).

Hayes Henry cleared 5-4 to finish 10th in the high jump and added a 19th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (11.19). Gavin Henry placed 11th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.64).

Kade Richardson was 12th in the triple jump (35-7) and 24th in the long jump (16-8.5). Wyatt Whitsett placed 12th in the high jump, 14th in the triple jump (34-0), and also ran the 60-meter dash (7.85).

Carter Barnett finished 18th in the long jump (18-0) and competed in the 200-meter dash.

On the girls side, Laura Metzger placed 19th in the 1600-meter run (6:23). Piper Warnecke finished 19th in the long jump, 21st in the 200-meter dash (30.13), and 22nd in the 60-meter dash (8.85).

Cason Lacher placed 29th in the 60-meter dash (7.72) and ran the 1600-meter run (5:39). Nathan White competed in the 1600-meter run (5:41) and also ran the 200-meter dash and long jump.

Additional competitors included Cole McClelland and Logan Daniels (60m, 200m, 400m), Olivia Albert (400m, 200m, long jump), Evan Wu (shot put), Kayleigh Taylor (800m, 1600m), and Haley Metzger (1600m).

Indian Lake will close out the regular indoor season Sunday at Bowling Green State University. The indoor state championship is scheduled for March 7 at the SPIRE Institute for qualifying athletes.

Daniels Wins at Otterbein

Benjamin Logan senior Carter Daniels claimed a victory Sunday afternoon at the Otterbein University indoor meet. Competing in a field of 23 athletes, Daniels won the pole vault with a new personal record of 15 feet, 7 inches.
