Area high school bowling action took place Thursday night, with Urbana, West Liberty-Salem, and Graham all seeing varsity competition across the lanes in boys and girls matchups highlighted by big individual series and strong Baker performances.

VARSITY BOYS — Urbana 2206, Tecumseh 1528

The Urbana boys bowling team earned a solid victory over Tecumseh on Thursday, building a comfortable advantage during the regular games and maintaining it through Baker play for a 2206–1528 win.

Louie Astacoon led Urbana with a 144–225 series for 369. Tristan Lawson followed with 359 (207–152), while William Walters rolled 277. Bently Story added 263, Devin Schaffer contributed a single-game 190, and Michael “Mike” Benefiel finished with 147.

Urbana totaled 1605 pins in the regular games and added 601 pins in Baker play to secure the win.

The Urbana girls bowling team fell to Tecumseh despite strong individual efforts, dropping a 2559–2366 decision on Thursday.

Emily Fisher paced Urbana with an impressive 224–196 series for 420. Mallory Stokes followed with 334 (177–157), while Audrie Williams rolled 330. Brianna Campbell added 326, and Hannah Saylor finished with 290.

Urbana totaled 1700 pins in the regular games and added 666 pins in Baker play.

Tucker Searles led the Tigers with a big 202–238 series for 440. Jerome Cordrey followed with 409 (194–215), while Devon Jones rolled 404. Bryant Eaton added 388, and Zander Gluckle contributed 366.

West Liberty-Salem posted 2007 pins in the regular games and added 666 pins in Baker play to pull away.
