Thursday night middle school basketball showdowns

The Indian Lake 7th grade girls basketball team earned a win over Tecumseh, 29-12, on Thursday night.

Abby Bihn led the way with 12 points and 4 assists, while Addison Headings added 8 points.

Samantha Altstaetter scored 4 points, and Caroline Jones contributed 3 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Teighan Mackesy chipped in 2 points and recorded 6 steals.

The 7th grade team will next play Bellefontaine on Saturday morning.

The Indian Lake 8th grade boys basketball team lost to Tecumseh in overtime 47-43.

Nixon Lillard led the team in scoring with 16 points, Rush Hurley netted 14, Kirk Beres scored 8, and Alex Tussing added 5 points.

They will play at Jonathan Alder next Thursday.

 

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders 7th grade team defeated Jonathan Alder, 26-24.

Maci Stafford led with 14 points and 2 rebounds, Layla Schneider added 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal, and Mica Coaty contributed 3 points and 9 rebounds.

Addy Leonard rounded out the performance with 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. The Lady Raiders improved to 11-1 on the season.

The 8th grade Lady Raiders also defeated Jonathan Alder, 29-16.

Jozie Taylor was a standout with 17 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Brielle Kline added 5 points, 4 steals, and 2 assists, while Marley Shields contributed 4 points and 6 rebounds.

The 8th grade team improved to 9-3 on the season.

 

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade girls team earned a road win over West Jefferson, 30-24.

Their record now stands at 7-4.

The girls will host Madison Plains on Saturday, January 18th.

 

The Bellefontaine 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Northwestern 26-22.

Kennedy Hairston led the team with 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Alexis Hogan added 5 points.

Zyannia Bean-Breaston and Gianna Davis each scored 4 points.

Unfortunately, the 8th-grade Lady Chiefs fell to Northwestern, 36-21.

Lexey Brown led Bellefontaine with 8 points, followed by Allie Myers with 4. Paxton Stewart and Rylie Crabtree each added 3 points.

In 7th grade boys action, the Chiefs won 41-18 against Northwestern.

Sennett Stolly led the team scoring 14 points and Sammy Strayer added 9.

The 8th grade team fell 46-26.

 

The Riverside 7th grade girls basketball team was defeated by Bethel 31-16.

Bella Robinson led Riverside with 8 points, while Lilly Jackson added 4 points and Lilly Haynes chipped in 2 points.

The 8th grade Lady Pirates also lost to Bethel, 27-12.

Bella Robinson again led with 7 points, while Rolissa Foreman added 3 and Maddie Schindewolf contributed 2.

The Riverside 7th grade boys basketball team lost to Northridge 49-33 and the 8th grade boys team also fell 55-9.
