The Lady Chiefs took on a very tough Urbana team Thursday and fell 3-2.
Caitlin Stolly and Parker Penhorwood made goals for the Chiefs.
Regulation time had expired and the contest was 2-2.
The first one to score would get the win for their school.
Urbana would get the final say off of a corner kick to Peyton Mounce with the header, and game-winner.
“I couldn’t be more proud of how our team showed up tonight,” said Coach Shumaker. “This was a tough loss to a very strong team, but the Bellefontaine players showed what they were made of tonight. ”
The Lady Raiders season came to a close Thursday after a 4-0 loss to Northwestern.
Rissa Bates finished with 12 saves in goal.
The girls finished with a 10-9 record (5-6 conference) and broke multiple school records throughout the season.
The West Liberty-Salem girls soccer team shut out Springfield Shawnee Thursday 8-0.
