The West Liberty-Salem boys’ varsity soccer team won its second game of the season this evening by defeating the Fairlawn Jets 9-0.
The Tigers were led in goals by Conner Leichty, who recorded a hat-trick, and Wyatt Longaberger, adding two of his own. Elijah Christison, Josiah Thoman, Jerome Cordrey, and Peyton Ziegler all had a goal apiece. Lance Campbell tallied three assists, and David Roberts had two. Longaberger, Logan Zanfirov, and Landon Zanfirov each had one assist.
Rylan Leichty had one save in goal for the Tigers.
West Liberty-Salem will take on the Northeastern Warriors on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
The Bellefontaine Chieftain boys travelled to take on the Kenton Wildcats, falling 7-1. Their record falls to 0-2 on the season.
Cody Husdon was able to net the lone goal for the Chiefs. He put a beautiful strike on the ball after a great pass from Anderson Konz, who earns an assist.
The Chieftains will look to bounce back on Monday against the Tecumseh Arrows.
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders soccer team won 3-1 Monday night against the Kenton Wildcats to earn a season-opening win.
Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Mayse Daniels, assisted by Daylin Varner. Rylan Norvell headed in a corner from Ella Chamberlain and Paisley Rodenberger. Rissa Bates had 5 saves in goal, including a huge penalty kick save to preserve a 2-1 score at the time.
