Tigers Beat Northwestern; Chiefs Pick up a Pair of Wins

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers beat Northwestern 11-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Peyton Hull started the day and earned the win for the Tigers pitching 4 innings, striking out 3, walking 1, and giving up 1 run.

Reese Oder pitched 1 inning in relief for the Tigers striking out 1.

The Tigers gathered 11 hits at the plate.

  • Eli Allen went 2-3, 1 run, 1 RBI, and 1 walk
  • Jeremiah Johnson 2-2, 1 run, 1 RBI, 1 walk

  • Austin Olejniczak 1-2, 2 Runs, 1 walk

The Tigers are now 5-2 on the season and play Mechanicsburg on Monday at home.

 

The Bellefontaine Chiefs picked up two big wins in a doubleheader Saturday.

In game one the Chiefs faced Defiance Tinora and despite trailing by as many as five runs, going into the 6th inning the Chiefs rallied to best Tinora 15-8.

The Chiefs scored twelve runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory.

Riley Neer hit a solo home run to left field, Jose Sandoval doubled, scoring two runs, Beckham Harman doubled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Chris Fogan homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Brody Boy tripled, scoring three runs.

In the second game, the Chiefs were able to defeat St. Henry 5-3.

Spencer Stolly was able to record his 1st win on the mound.

Spencer Stolly pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Bellefontaine Chiefs.

They allowed six hits and one run while, striking out three and walking one.

Owen Larison led things off on the hill for Bellefontaine Chiefs.

The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four.

They will be back in action on Monday at home vs Urbana
