West Liberty-Salem 13, Fairbanks 2
Jeremiah Johnson drove in five runs on three hits to lead West Liberty-Salem past Fairbanks 13-2 on Tuesday.
The Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Reese Oder hit a sacrifice fly, scoring a run, and Jeremiah Johnson singled in two.
West Liberty never looked back.
Isaac Sertell earned the win for West Liberty, giving up five hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.
Dayne Madison took the loss for Fairbanks.
He went five innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking two.
West Liberty welcomes Greeneview on Thursday for their next game. Fairbanks is at Greenon tonight.
Bellfontaine 12, Indian Lake 0
Lincoln Banta collected three hits in four at-bats, as Bellefontaine put a wallop on Indian Lake 12-nil on Tuesday.
Banta singled in the first inning, and doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Chiefs opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to a couple of singles.
Brody Boy brought in two runs.
Bellefontaine scored five more runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Cayleb Overmann RBI-doubled, Zylar Huffman singled in a run, two more runs scored on an error, and Spencer Stolly sacrificed himself for one more run.
Stolly started on the hill for Bellefontaine, giving up one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking two.
Jackson Snipes started on the bump for Indian Lake.
The hurler went three innings, giving up five hits and seven runs, striking out five and walking two.
Indian Lake returns to action on Friday when they host West Liberty.
Bellefontaine has a few nights off to prepare for the postseason.
They play again on May 21 at Benjamin Logan.
