Tigers out hit and outscore Fairbanks; Graham falls to Bellbrook

West Liberty-Salem 10, Fairbanks 0

The West Liberty-Salem Tigers scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Fairbanks 10-0 on Monday.

It all started with an RBI ground out by Reese Oder to put West Liberty-Salem on the board in the bottom of the first.

The Tigers extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Oder and Isaiah Reames.

In the fourth, Jake Evans added an RBI-groundout to score a run.

Brodey Deam singled in two more. Reames then tripled to bring in two more runs.

Jeremiah Johnson followed that up with a two-run homer to right.

Reames started the game for West Liberty-Salem, giving up just two hits and no runs over five innings, striking out three and walking two.

Owen Woody started on the mound for Fairbanks.

The hurler gave up seven hits and 10 runs (four earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three.

Dallas Koons and Reames each collected two hits for the Tigers.

Ethan Boeger and Liam Rhea each collected hits for Fairbanks.

Fairbanks will try to get revenge as they host West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday.

 

Bellbrook 15, Graham 12

Even though the Graham Falcons collected 10 hits to Bellbrook’s seven, they still fell 15-12 on Monday.

Adam Levy, Breyton Reisinger, Owen Powell, and Holden Dunham each collected two hits for Graham in the loss.

Despite losing, the Falcons did collect 10 hits in the high-scoring affair.

Unfortunately, Bellbrook needed just seven hits to gain the victory.

Graham was the first to get on the board in the first when Breyton Reisinger singled in a run.

Will Heitkamp scored after tagging up, which helped Bellbrook tie the game at one in the top of the second.

In the top of the fourth inning, Bellbrook took the lead after Nolan Sickels grounded into a fielder’s choice, William Dreisbach and Trevor Raker both walked, each scoring a run.

Bellbrook scored eight runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning.

Wes Nicholson hit an RBI sacrifice fly, Sickels to hit into an RBI fielder’s choice, Dreisbach singled in two more runs, Drew Schindler hit a 3-run double, and Landen Buttery doubled in another.

Graham didn’t want to be left out of the scoring fun.

The Falcons scored eight runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hayden Van Hoose drew a bases-loaded walk to score a run, Braden Bost to hit into an RBI fielder’s choice, Powell then doubled in two runs.

Dunham hit a two-run single before a passed ball scored the eighth run.

Levy stepped on the bump first for Graham Local Varsity Falcons.

The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and four runs over four innings, striking out one and walking five.

Landon Vennettilli led things off on the mound for Bellbrook.

He allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two.

Graham piled up 10 hits in the game.

Powell and Dunham were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for the Falcons.

Sickels led Bellbrook with four RBIs from the number nine spot in the lineup.

The infielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Schindler and Sickels each collected two hits for Bellbrook.

Graham Local Varsity Falcons welcome Shawnee on Tuesday for their next game.
