With both teams bumping wrestlers to create the most competitive matchups possible, the dual stayed tight throughout. In the end, the Tigers did just enough to secure the narrow victory and send their seniors out on a high note.
West Liberty-Salem earned key wins from Silas Krabill, who picked up a dominant technical fall at 165 pounds, Sam Bradford, who posted an 8–3 decision at 215, and Lucas Merriman, who sealed six points with a pin at 126. The Tigers also benefited from multiple forfeits, including heavyweight Maverick Reames, as the back-and-forth dual came down to the final bouts.
Despite several pins by Mechanicsburg, the Tigers’ depth and timely bonus points proved to be the difference.
