The West Liberty-Salem Tigers were busy on the pitch Saturday, with both the girls and boys teams picking up victories.
The WLS girls team defeated Bellefontaine 5-2 at home in non-league play.
Scoring for the Tigers were Arianna Weaver with two goals, Skyler Ropp with two goals, and Ellery Wygal with one.
Assists were credited to Arianna Weaver and Tori Douthwaite, while Kaylee Blair recorded five saves in goal.
The win improves the Tigers’ record to 2-4-1 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
West Liberty-Salem will host Madison Plains on Monday for an Ohio Heritage Conference matchup at 5:30 p.m.
The WLS boys’ varsity team cruised to an 8-1 win over Franklin Monroe Saturday afternoon, taking a commanding 7-0 lead by halftime.
Elijah Christison and Wyatt Longaberger each scored twice, while Lance Campbell, Kamden Yang, Conner Leichty, and Caleb Ling added one goal apiece.
Assists came from Josiah Thoman, Caleb Ling, Miles Christison, Conner Leichty, and Kamden Yang, each recording one.
In goal, Tucker Searles made four saves, with Rylan Leichty adding three.
The boys improve to 6-2 on the season and will travel to Jackson Center on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. matchup.
