Tigers set meet record; Lady Chiefs earn runner-up

Thursday the West Liberty-Salem boys track and field team placed third at the Marion Local Varsity Flyer Spectacular Relays, while the girls broke a meet record and the Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs finished second at the Miamisburg Invitational.

The West Liberty-Salem boys claimed third place out of eight teams Thursday evening with 87 points, trailing only Marion Local (142) and Coldwater (96).

The Tigers delivered multiple first-place finishes and even set a meet record in the Sprint Medley Relay.

1st Place:

  • 1600m: Caleb Larson – 4:25.68
  • 300m Hurdles: Taryn Bradley – 41.74

The West Liberty-Salem girls team finished 6th out of 8 teams Thursday night at the Marion Local Flyer Spectacular, with a total of 55 points.

The team’s highlight came in the Sprint Medley Relay, where they set a new meet record.

The Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs had a strong showing Thursday night at the Miamisburg Invitational, placing 2nd overall out of 15 teams with 85 points.
