Triad picks up win over Ridgemont; area Middle School teams in action – Monday basketball

Area basketball teams were in action Monday.

The Triad varsity girls defeated Ridgemont 36-18.

For the Lady Cardinals, Madi Cox led with 16 points, 3 steals, and 6 rebounds, Emma Ferguson had 8 points, 5 steals, and 3 assists, Abbey Overfield tallied 7 points and 9 rebounds, and Ashlyn McCoy pulled down 13 rebounds.

Triad is now 2-12 on the year.

Middle School:

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade girls lost to Northwestern 28-18.

Sloan Stolly paced the Lady Chiefs with 8 points and 5 steals. Amari Hunsicker chipped in 7 points while Ava Oppy rounded out the scoring with 3 points. Joy Fogan and Vanessa Friedrich combined for 6 rebounds.

The 7th grade Lady Chiefs are now 7-3 on the season and will host Northridge Thursday night.

The Bellefontaine 8th-grade girls beat Northwestern 34-10.

Sophia Jacobs led the way with 10 points, Emma Whitaker added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, Grace Brown had 7 points, 4 boards, and 4 steals, Hailee Lamb chipped in with 6 points, 9 steals, and 3 boards, Presley Vigansky added 2 points and grabbed 9 boards and Paige Smith hauled down 11 boards.

Hannah Wilson and Alivia Wage added good minutes on defense.

Bellefontaine returns to action Thursday when they host Kenton Ridge.

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade boys defeated Northwestern 33-20.

Sam Jenkins led the Chiefs with 13 points and Alex Carter scored 8 points.

The Chieftain 8th-grade boys handled Northwestern 58-28.

CJ Butler lead Bellefontaine with 19 points.

The Chiefs are back in action Thursday night at Kenton Ridge.

The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade girls defeated Jonathan Alder 23-11.

Brylee Buyer led the way with 8 points and Autumn Cline added 6 points.

The Lady Raiders’ 8th-grade team lost 25-20.

Kylie Harner paced Benjamin Logan with 8 points and Molly Siefring and Elliott Butler both added 5 points.

The Lady Raiders will be back in action Tuesday evening against Kenton starting at 5:30.

The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade boys lost to Jonathan Alder 37-16.

The Benjamin Logan 8th-grade boys also fell to Jonathan Alder 28-24.

Diesel Baughman led the Raiders with 9 points, while Alex Hassel added 8 points.

Benjamin Logan is back in action Tuesday against Kenton.

The Indian Lake 7th-grade girls fell to Tecumseh 33-20.

Alivia Kinney led the Lady Lakers with 12 points.

In the 8th-grade game, Indian Lake fell 33-31.

Leading the Lady Lakers were Addy Roby with 13 points and Lisa Tracey had 9 points.

The Riverside 7th-grade girls beat Troy Christian 16-4:

Kenzie Stotler led the way with 8 points, Valerie Knight had 4 points, and Molly Carman and Clara McGill each had 2 points.

Lady Pirates are now 8-4 (7-3 conference).

In the 8th-grade game, Riverside fell 24-17.

Miah Carman led the Lady Pirates with 12 points, Madelyn Lemly and Emilee Robinson each had 2 points, and Keira Manahan pitched in 1 point.

Riverside is now 10-2 (8-2 conference).

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade girls edged past Madison-Plains 25-23.

Arianna Weaver led the Lady Tigers with 10 points, Addison Wallen poured in 7 points, Lucy Cole had 3 points, Delaney Anane-Sefah and Emma Schmelzer each scored 2 points and Ellery Wygal had one point.

The Lady Tigers’ 8th-grade girls fell to Madison-Plains 37-26.

Maddie Adkins led West Liberty-Salem with 13 points, Lucy Cole had 6 points, Grace Jones chipped in with 3 points and Belle Sarver and Emma Liggett each had 2 points.

The 8th-grade Lady Tigers fall to 6-4.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th-grade boys topped Madison-Plains 51-44.

Beckett Sullivan led the Tigers with 21 points, Brayan Gullett chipped in with 13 points, Asher Cole added 10 points, and Zeke Longshore had 7 points.

The 7th-grade Tiger boys improve to 9-0.

The Urbana 7th-grade boys ran past Kenton Ridge 46-17.

Roman Swain led the Hillclimbers with 12 points, Crew Forson had 8 points and Drew Dixon tallied 7 points.

Urbana’s 8th-grade boys also beat KR 52-45.

The Hillclimbers were led by Grady Lantz with 28 points and Kaden Underwood had 8 points.
