Lakers and Tigers pick up big wins; WG girls top USV – Tuesday basketball results

Area basketball teams were in action Tuesday evening.

Varsity boys:

In a game broadcast on 98.3 WPKO Indian Lake ran past Benjamin Logan 77-35.

Isaac Morrison led the Lakers with 13 points, Lane Tucci pitched in 12, Camdon Tuttle had 11, and Logan Murphy scored 10.

For the Raiders, Gavin Neeley had 11.

The Lakers improve to 10-9 (7-1 CBC), while Benjamin Logan falls to 0-19 (0-8 CBC).

Indian Lake won the JV game 58-33.

Tyson Ramirez had 16 for the Lake.

Peyton Vermillion tossed in 13 for Benjamin Logan.

The Lakers travel to Urbana Friday night with an outright CBC Mad River title on the line.

Indian Lake has not won a league championship since 1960.

The Hillclimbers improve to 13-5 (7-1 CBC).

Bellefontaine fell to Jonathan Alder 63-38.

Calvary Christian edged past Lima Perry 49-47.

Patrick James had 12 points and 4 rebounds, Kaden Downey recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals, Wyatt Schlatter added 10 points, 9 boards, and 2 assists, Ezra Davie also pitched in 10 points along with 3 rebounds, Evan Patton chipped in with 6 points and 2 assists, and Ephraim Daniels had 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Spartans will be back on the road Friday night at 8:00 p.m. at Wellington High School.

Graham beat Northwestern 71-62.

The Falcons improve to 8-11 (6-2 CBC).

Riverside lost to Miami East 69-57.

Gavin Orsborne recorded 14 points and 2 steals, Dominik Stotler pitched in 9 points and 4 steals, and Kaleb Schindelwolf added 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Pirates fell in the JV game 67-42.

Reece Jenkins and Brice Kauffman each had 9 points. Jenkins also pulled down 5 boards. Dylan Burchett collected 11 rebounds.

Riverside also dropped the freshman game 47-25.

Hayden Sanford scored 9 points, Camden Shoe had 8 points and 4 rebounds, and Grady Jenkins pulled down 8 boards and had 4 steals.

Triad fell short to West Jefferson 53-50.

Tyler Perry had 15 in the loss.

West Liberty-Salem ran past Mechanicsburg 54-30.

Taran Logwood poured in 17, Brevin Louden had 10, Carson Poppe scored 9, Miles Hostetler tallied 7, Logan Phillips netted 5, and Isaiah Reames and Caleb Hershberger each had 3.

The Tigers improve to 10-9 (8-6 OHC).

West Liberty-Salem won the JV game 50-36.

JJ Johnson had 14, Cade Stokes and Garrett Wallen each scored 7, Caleb Hershberger tallied 6, and Jackson Steider and Gaven Nance both had 5 points apiece.

The Tigers also won the freshmen 39-7.

Garrett Wallen pitched in 10, while Dylan King and JJ Johnson each had 7.

West Liberty-Salem will travel to Triad on Friday.

Varsity girls:

Waynesfield-Goshen topped Upper Scioto Valley 50-41.

Raegan Hutchison poured in 17 and Zaria DeLeon added 15.

Middle School:

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade boys defeated Indian Lake 30-18.

Reign St. Clair led the Chiefs with 19 points.

In the 8th-grade game, Bellefontaine won 44-37.

CJ Butler and Spencer Stolly paced the Chiefs with 14 points each.

The Bellefontaine 8th-grade boys open up CBC Tournament action Saturday when they host Shawnee at 11 a.m.
