The Bellefontaine Chieftain boys’ soccer team snapped out of a scoring slump in a big way Monday night, rolling past Northwestern 6-1 on the road.

Ethan Turner led the charge with a hat trick, including two goals in the first half, assisted by Anderson Konz. Landon Cook added a penalty kick, then Turner repaid Konz for his assists. Konz put one in the back of the net off a helper from Turner.

Turner earned one more goal, and Sean Morgan found the net in the second half.

The defense stayed strong throughout, holding NW to just one early goal. BHS improves to 2-6 (1-3 CBC) and looks to build momentum on Wednesday at Kenton Ridge.

“The guys were flying around and just playing with an edge. They really deserve this win! They’ve put in a ton of work and finally get to see their efforts rewarded. And Ethan, I feel so good for him. He has been a little frustrated with his finishing, and hopefully this gives him a little more breathing room. The defense played solid again too. They have really started to gel back there.”
