The Urbana High School cheerleading team has once again made its mark in the competitive cheerleading world! Over the weekend, the team competed at the prestigious Best In The State (BITS), where they secured an impressive 6th-place finish against some of the toughest teams in the region. This placement highlights their dedication, teamwork, and skill as they continue to build on a tradition of excellence.

Now, the team is setting their sights on an even bigger stage. For the second year in a row, the Hillclimbers are gearing up to represent Urbana at the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) in Orlando, Florida. This highly anticipated competition, hosted by UCA, will bring together the best high school teams from across the country from February 7-10, 2025.

“We’re proud of what we accomplished at BITS, but we’re not done yet,” said Coach Jenny Payne. “This team is focused, determined, and ready to push even harder as we prepare for Nationals.”

The Hillclimbers are diving into intense practices, perfecting routines, and building on their strengths to shine on the national stage. Competing at Nationals is not only a chance to showcase their talent but also an opportunity to highlight the pride and spirit of Urbana High School on a national level.

The team is calling on the community to support them on this exciting journey. Follow their progress, cheer them on, and celebrate the dedication these athletes bring to every performance.

Stay tuned, Hillclimber Nation—this team is climbing to new heights!
