The Urbana High School Girls Bowling team was recognized Wednesday during the 136th General Assembly in Columbus.
Senator Susan Manchester presented the team to the Senate floor and honored the girls for their state championship, which they won in February.
“This victory is not only a milestone for the girls’ bowling team,” Senator Manchester said, “but also marks the sixth state title overall for Urbana High School. With this win, the bowling teams became the only teams in the school to have both a boys and a girls’ state championship.”
It was the girls’ first state championship.
