The Urbana Hillclimbers picked up a 3-2 win over the Bellefontaine Chieftains Thursday in girls tennis.
The Chieftains earned two victories in singles play. At first singles, Mia Brown defeated Eveline Schelle 6-0, 6-1. At second singles, Olivia Warye defeated Chloe Nannarone 6-2, 6-3.
The Hillclimbers answered at third singles, with Mallory Stokes defeating Bellefontaine’s Sophia Pulfer 6-3, 6-3.
Urbana also picked up both doubles victories. Emma Ridley and Emily Hughes defeated Oriana Vasquez and Isabella Barton 7-5, 6-4 at first doubles.
At second doubles, Raygen Wilson and Katie McHenry defeated Nahla Arruza and Jade Ricks 6-1, 6-0.
The Urbana Hillclimbers won the match 3-2.
Both teams return to action Tuesday, September 1. Urbana travels to Tecumseh, while Bellefontaine hosts Jonathan Alder.
