The Bellefontaine Chiefs had a successful day at Riverside on Saturday, with the varsity team winning in straight sets 25-13, 25-9, and 25-8. Kelsie Snapp led the charge with 23 kills, 11 digs, and a block. Ava Layman added 9 kills and a solo block, while Taylor Banta contributed 8 kills, 12 digs, 2 blocks, and 5 aces. Madi Zedeker orchestrated the offense with 43 assists and 14 digs, and Ava Reeves led the defensive effort with 25 digs. The Chiefs, now 5-1, are set to face the Urbana Hillclimbers at home on Tuesday, with JV Black starting at 4:30 PM.
The JV Red team also won in straight sets 25-16 and 25-16. Ava Oppy led with 18 digs and 3 aces. Kaeleigh Flora contributed 6 kills and 8 digs, while Presley Vigansky added 8 assists, 5 kills, and 5 digs. Alayna Boyd recorded 8 assists, 4 kills, and 7 digs, along with 2 aces and a solo block. Jillian Ullom and Arianna Rangel rounded out the strong performance with notable contributions in digs and serving.
The Varsity Lady Pirates struggled against Bellefontaine, Brook Hunkler and Jayden Hoffer each had 4 kills, with Hunkler also maintaining a 100% serving rate. Avery Perk added 7 assists to the effort. The JV Lady Pirates also lost in 2 sets, with scores of 16-25 and 16-25.
The Benjamin Logan Volleyball team made a strong showing in Springfield, winning all three levels of play. The Varsity team triumphed 3-1 with set scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-7, and 25-19. Key performances included Mia Stahler with 11 aces and 12 digs, Georgia Daniels with 12 kills, and Abby Vance with 10 kills. Kayla Williamson added 9 kills and other notable contributions came from Skylar Miracle, Annika Chappell, and Caroline Spriggs. The Raiders will continue their season with a match at Northwestern on Tuesday.
