In a dynamic night of volleyball action, West Liberty-Salem and Indian Lake both emerged victorious in their respective matches.
West Liberty-Salem Tigers defeated the West Jefferson Roughriders with a final score of 3-1, winning the sets 13-25, 25-20, 25-12, and 25-19. Key performances included Londyn Loveless with 2 aces, 6 digs, and 16 assists; Kiersten Stoll, who tallied 3 aces, 11 digs, and 4 kills; and Naomi Cole, contributing 1 ace, 7 digs, 11 kills, and 3 blocks. The Heminger sisters also shined, with Ellah Heminger recording 7 digs and 3 kills, and Lilli Heminger adding 7 digs, 4 kills, and 2 blocks. Marisa Smith excelled with 4 aces and 5 digs, while Asher Daniels was notable for 2 aces, 8 digs, 7 kills, and 3 blocks. The West Liberty-Salem JV team also had a strong performance, defeating West Jefferson in three sets: 25-4, 15-25, and 25-14. Olive Matthews led with 4 assists and 5 aces, while Addie Hutton added 5 kills and 7 aces. Belle Sarver and Emma Schmelzer contributed 2 kills each, and Emma Liggett had 9 digs and 8 kills. Kendall Carroll, Tru Maxam, and Sophia Landon also made notable contributions.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake Lakers delivered a commanding performance against Riverside, winning in straight sets 25-20, 25-11, and 25-7. Senior Kenzie Dixon led the Lakers with 10 kills, 21 digs, and a perfect 13/13 serving record. Senior Halle Roby contributed 9 kills, 2 aces, 22 assists, and 11 digs. Annie Rapp, Cami Bailey, and Courtney Altstaetter also made significant impacts with multiple kills and strong serving. Riley Ross and Addyson Roby were instrumental in defense and setting, respectively. The Lakers improved their record to 3-0 and will face West Liberty in their next match on Thursday.
The JV Lakers also defeated Riverside in straight sets, 25-8 and 25-11. Ady Oldiges led with 10/10 serving, 6 kills, and 15 assists. Brynna Avila, Madison Davis, Mackenzie Miller, Quinn Imm, Miley Humble, Izzi Mackesy, and Jessica Savage all contributed to the strong team performance.
