Weekend Hoops: Lakers and Spartans Net Wins; Raiders Fall to Hillclimbers

Indian Lake defeated Anna 61-49 Saturday night.

For the Lake Caiden Nicol netted 21 points and Dawson Finfrock added 12.

Coach Zach Overturf earned his 68th victory, making him the coach with the most wins ever in ILHS Boys Basketball history.

He received a standing ovation from the crowd and the game ball from the team.

Coach O is in his sixth year as head coach at ILHS and he’s the first coach to win a league championship in boys basketball since 1961, along with several sectional titles.

The JV team fell to Anna 56-44.

Quentin Miller led the Lakers scoring 18 points.

 

 

The Calvary Christian Varsity Spartans traveled to Milford and came out on top after playing a hard-fought league game and beating back the Bulldogs 47-40.

Wyatt Schlatter led the team dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 steals and he snagged 8 rebounds.

Zeeke Wylie and Phil Davie followed with Wylie also scoring 15 points and Davie scoring 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Their OVCC record is 3-0 and their overall record is 4-2.

Their next game is Friday at home against Dominion at 7:15 pm.

The JV Spartans muzzled the Milford Bulldogs, beating them 51-13 in a league matchup.

Christian Rogan led the team scoring 15 points.

Braylon Dunson followed with 12 points.

Daniel Young added 7 points and Nehemiah Dillon and John Gaertner both chipped in 6 points apiece.

Their OVCC record is 3-0 and their overall record is 3-3.

Their next game is Monday in Arcanum against the Castine Cavs at 6:00 pm.

 


Benjamin Logan hosted Urbana Saturday night and lost 59-19.

The Raiders were led by Cayden Brown with 11 points.

The JV Raiders lost 65-27.

Diesel Baughman scored 8 points and Clayton Jenkins scored 6 points
