Lakers Defeat Madison Plains, 7-0
On Saturday, the Lakers delivered a commanding performance, defeating Madison Plains 7-0 to improve their season record to 4-1. Harly Kinninger led the charge with her first hat trick of the season, while Cambria Tuttle and Brylee Buyer each scored twice. Chloe Wade and Brylee Buyer each added two assists, and Karsyn Newkirk and Olivia Hurley contributed one assist each. The Lakers will face Tecumseh at home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Calvary Christian Soccer Triumphs Over Allen East
The Varsity Calvary Christian Soccer team secured a 3-0 victory over the Allen East Mustangs on Saturday. Junior Nehemiah Dillon scored the first goal in the last minute of the first half, heading in a pass from Senior Captain Daniel Young. The second half saw two more Spartan goals: Daniel Young scored with an assist from Junior Trent Comer, and Junior Tanner Hurley set up Trent Comer for the final goal. Goalkeepers Senior Preston Carnes and Freshman Brody Prall combined for the shutout. The Spartans now boast a 6-1-1 record and will host Jackson Center this Thursday.
West Liberty-Salem Boys’ JV Soccer Falls to Miami East
The West Liberty-Salem boys’ JV soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-2 to Miami East. Scoring for WLS were Patrick Brooks and Tucker Searles. Noah Lawson added an assist, while Hunter Little made 8 saves in goal.
West Liberty-Salem Girls Soccer Tops Milton Union, 2-1
The West Liberty-Salem girls’ soccer team won 2-1 against Milton Union on Saturday. Arianna Weaver and Emery Longaberger each scored a goal, with Jenna Cline and Arianna Weaver providing assists. The Tigers now have a 3-2 record and are 2-1 in conference play. They will host Greenon for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, which will also be Youth Night.
