West Liberty-Salem and Riverside fall Wednesday night

Last night. the boys basketball teams at West Liberty-Salem and Riverside played their latest games with mixed results.

At West Liberty-Salem, the Varsity team lost to Springfield Central Catholic, 49-44.

Brevin Louden led the team with 14 points, followed by Sutton Wilcoxon with 12 points.

Isaiah Reames added 8 points.

In the JV game, West Liberty-Salem won 45-23, improving their record to 10-1.

Sam Strapp scored 9 points, and Beckett Sullivan added 8 points.

The team’s next game is Friday, Jan. 17th, at West Jefferson.

For Riverside, the Varsity team lost to Milton Union, 64-41.

Jaxon Woods was the top scorer with 19 points and 7 rebounds.

Damien Smith added 6 points, and Brody Orsborne contributed 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Freshman team lost 36-23, with Gabe Steineman scoring 12 points.

In better news, the JV team won 47-42.

Justin Mazariegos led with 11 points, and Syler Clark added 9 points, 2 steals, 1 block, and 5 rebounds.
