West Liberty-Salem competes at OHC Preview

The West Liberty-Salem Girls Track Team competed in the OHC Preview at Greenview on Monday, finishing 4th out of 12 teams.

Senior Tori Douthwaite claimed first place in the pole vault, clearing 8’6″.

Hattie Jacobs also earned a first-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.20 seconds.

The 4x200m relay team of Lexi Hausler, Ella Albers, Hattie Jacobs, and Chloe Griffith placed second with a time of 1:59.87, while the 4x100m relay team of Tori Douthwaite, Gwen McCullough, Arianna Weaver, and Chloe Griffith also earned second place with a time of 54.17 seconds.

Arianna Weaver’s high jump of 4’8” secured her second place in that event.

Isabella Hardwick placed third in the discus with a throw of 94’2″, showing her strength in the field events.

The 4x800m relay team of Addi Wallen, Mariska Smith, Rachel Stanford, and Olive Matthews took fourth place with a time of 11:27.69.

Mariska Smith also earned a fourth-place finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:42.20.

In addition, the 4x400m relay team of Ryrie Matthews, Mariska Smith, Natalie Fish, and Kiarah Ingram finished in fourth place with a time of 5:10.36.

Isla Leichty placed fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:43.82, and the 4x800m Relay B team (Isla Leichty, Ivy Matthews, Bella Hughes, Ryrie Matthews) took fifth place in 11:29.43.

In the 100m, Ella Albers finished in sixth place with a time of 14.16 seconds.

Lyndee Harrison performed well in the discus, placing sixth with a throw of 27’11 3/4″.

The Tigers also had several strong showings in the 3200m run, with Ivy Matthews finishing seventh with a time of 13:57.03, and Rachel Stanford placing seventh in pole vault (6’0″).

 

On the boys side of things, they finished 7th out of 12 teams.

Brayan Gullett claimed first place in the 3200m with a time of 10:25.4.

The 4x400m relay team, consisting of Asher Cole, Owen Hardwick, Adly Knox, and Zeke Longshore, finished in second place with a time of 3:52.52.

Asher Cole also placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:09.61.

Adly Knox took fifth in the 1600m with a time of 4:54.02, while Zeke Longshore finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:15.49.

Garrett Wallen also earned fifth in the 3200m with a time of 10:53.01.

James Brehm finished seventh in the 110m hurdles with a time of 18.04.

Owen Hardwick placed eighth in the 1600m with a time of 5:03.02, and Robert Park finished eighth in the 400m with a time of 58.48.

The 4x100m relay team, made up of Silas Kauffman, Sam Strapp, Dan Erne, and Dustin Bolton, also placed eighth with a time of 52.04.

The team will compete next at the Triad Invitational this Friday evening.
